Script Policy
Some people requests scripts of our translations with the timings for the subtitles. The latest revisions of our scripts are hosted on this page, although due to file sizes, I have not included the linear notes’ presentations. If you want those, please email me and I’ll send them to you. You can also find most of our scripts at www.scriptclub.org , although they may be outdtated versions . [Note, you will have to register before downloading any scripts there.] If there isn't a script there of a project we have done and released to the public, I'm either being lazy or there is some compeling reason I have not to release it yet. Be patient or email me about it. The Script Club is an excellent resource for various anime and non-anime scripts. You should go there :)
We don't mind if people download and use our scripts to make their own fansub masters. We also don't mind if you change around the timings or change the translations.(Exception: we don’t want ANYONE “Americanizing” our Saint Seiya scripts by calling it “Knights of the Zodiac” and changes all the terms like “cloth” to “sacred armor”, “saint” to knight, etc. If you want to Americanize anime, fandub it.) We use other people's scripts to make some of our own fansubs (we based the translations for Sailor Moon R off existing translations by Studio Kawaii and used our translator to correct the scripts and add translations of the next episode previews).
If you DO use our scripts, we want you to give us the credit. Just as our Sailor Moon R scripts stated that the translations were based off another group's work, we expect you to do the same. If you changed our translations, a simple "originally fansubtitled by Random Masters" or "based on translations by Random Masters." If you changed our timings, you can use a similar message. Please do not take our translations and/or timing and call them your own. That's "stealing scripts", and if you do I'll send the Meso and the Vic Viper after you! (But seriously, I'd be majorly pissed if someone were passing off my work as their own.)
By the way, our scripts are not copyrighted. All fansubs scripts use unauthorized translations of intellectual property and thus cannot be copyrighted. We believe that if one attempts to assert that one "owns" a script because he paid for the translations, he is in essence claiming ownership of a stolen car because he stole it first. We provide fansubs and scripts as a service to the anime community, and see no need to get into a pissing war over ownership of illegal translations.
We are also not worried about our scripts falling into the hands of comic book stores. If a comic book store has a genlock, a DVD and/or LD player and can run off subtitled masters, they'd probably have better quality tapes than most CB stores, which only have a pair of 2-head VCRs with a pair of copper wires running out nth generation tapes in EP mode. At least you'd be getting more of your $20-30 worth! :D
Finally, if we never wanted anyone to use our scripts, we would never release any fansubs at all. I wouldn't even give out copies or masters to my friends. Why? Because once a tape is released and someone besides me has it, there is nothing I can do about it. Someone can always manually transcribe the scripts and then retime the anime for themselves. I prefer to not even try to fool myself by thinking I'm going to distribute anime and totally control the scripts. That's merely an egotistical illusion.

Finally, here’s some some cool

know that I won’t be able to subtitle everything in the world, but here are
some titles that I think should get fansubbed all the way through:

Of course, that doesn’t mean
this are the ONLY things worth subbing, but I’d personally love to see someone
do them.
