*NOTES*

0) Pocket Monsters just finished up its TV run during the last week of June 2002. Over 5 seasons it ended at episode 251, with 4 TV specials, 3 OVAs, and 5 full-length and short movies. Pretty impressive for a show starting in 1997. (Luckily, it will be continued in Pocket Monsters Advanced, which is based off the new Game Boy Advance game) We haven’t made plans for the rest of the TV rest series, as Shogakukan has seemingly halted the release of any more TV volumes (either on VHS or DVD) past episode 137, and they haven’t released more TV volumes for over a year now. I sincerely hope that they don’t abandon the video release, as frankly it sucks to release 137 episodes of a 251 episode series and then just stop.

1) There is a second TV Christmas Special. However, our video supplier has informed us that it only aired on TV Tokyo and was NOT released on video. Therefore, unless somebody drops us a SVHS or damn good VHS tape with the episode, we aren't going to subtitle it. The English dubbed version of this episode was called SNOW WAY OUT.

2) Episode #37 (the infamous seizure causing episode) will be available on volume 10. We have a master subtitled tape of it (a.k.a. 2nd generation TV source) thanks to Anime Daisuki. Unfortunately, the quality of this episode will not be as high as our other episodes. We cannot do anything about this.

3) The editing of the movies is going to be a little strange. Basically, both the short movie 1 and the movie 1 were put on different tapes for their vhs release. However, the DVD version included both the short and the full movie. So why aren't we putting them both together? The Christmas Special, Rujura's Christmas, is ONLY available on the VHS version. To get the best quality, however, we are going to use the DVD for the short movie and then add on the VHS XMAS Special.

4) What's this? Director's cut? You bet. The DVD and a special VHS version of the movie have extra footage including a short adventure with Mew, the origins of Mew, and a teaser for Movie 2. Besides, the DVD has awesome 5.1 Digital Dolby Sound (too bad VHS is only 2.0 surround). What's there not to love?

5) A similar problem exists with Short Movie 2. Pikachu Versus Nyasu is actually ALREADY on one of the previous volumes. Since the DVD release of Movie 2 does not include the episode, we will probably just combine the short and full movies on one tape.

6) Please note that these will be translations of the original Japanese anime, and not be DUBTITLED in English. We will keep ALL of the Japanese names, for both the humans AND the monsters. Thus, you will not see "Ash, Misty and Brock" but rather "Satoshi, Kasumi and Takashi." Also, "Team Rocket" will change into the more accurate "Rocket Gang." Finally, the US dub of the show aired a few episodes out of order, i.e. skipping five episodes and playing the Xmas specials and three episodes in the wrong season. We will release the volumes as released in Japan, with the exception that for season 1 we will double-up on episodes because each volume only had 2 episodes (40 volumes total). Season 2 had four episodes per video ( 9 total). Each TV volume will run approx. 96 minutes.

7) Since this is the Japanese release, it will be unedited and uncut. Believe in or not, the US dub actually cuts some scenes, but we have only discovered two small edits so far. Unfortunately, even the Japanese episode that take place at the Hot Springs does not contain nudity, as much as we all wanted to see Satoshi and Kasumi naked :(
