Notes: Hana Dan is one of my favorite anime series (and it kicks Marmalade Boy’s ASS!!! [Sorry, Yuu] ) and I love this movie, which is a retelling of the TV series in a parallel universe where all our favorite characters are involved in a Broadway musical, and Tsukushi is a poor girl trying to become a professional dancer… ^_^ Very amusing, and a nice break from the TV series while at the same time having the same spirit and themes that made the TV series a truly awesome shoujo anime. While previously Hana Yori Dango was available only on rental VHS tapes from Japan (which did not make the best quality sources for fansubbers), a legal Region 3 DVD of the film has been released by Panorama Cartoon (PCDVD-110926) under the Chinese title “Meteor Garden”. We used this for the source, and the results were great. I’m very pleased. This movie is paired with Dr. Slump Movie 4, which has absolutely nothing to do with Hana Yori Dango.
